I have only been painting for about 3 1/2 years and I often experience self-doubt and lack confidence in my skills and abilities.
I tend compare myself to artists and question whether my artwork is good enough to even be seen by others.
Funny thing, I don't really consider myself an "artist" - (feels weird), I just love to paint.
Embracing the uniqueness of every piece of artwork is essential. Each individual brings distinct abilities, skills, techniques, and experiences to the table, making comparisons irrelevant.
I am learning to focus on my own journey and growth as a painter, celebrating what makes my work special.

I may not have a formal degree in fine arts, have 20+ years of experience under my belt, or taken professional art classes but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t create something meaningful.
Kymberly Joy

When I experience doubts about my artwork, I often remind myself of why I do this.
In the begining of Janurary in 2025, Kymberly wrote me a couple of months ago while we were out dining at a restaurant. She took an unused napkin and wrote, "You are the best artist in the world. I love you" and handed it to me.
Knowing she is proud of my ability to capture the beauty around me allows me to keep creating and sharing my vision with the world.
